Mobile GMAT Test Center Starts Third Journey Across United States

Graduate Management Admission Council to Bring Business School Entrance Exam to 17 Universities in 12 States

MCLEAN, Va., March 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The GMAT® Mobile Test Center today began its third annual trip across the United States at California State University in Bakersfield, California. The journey will conclude June 6 at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The unique test center on wheels --- a customized bus with six high-tech GMAT testing stations and satellite communications links --- delivers the Graduate Management Admission Test® directly to students located far from a permanent GMAT test center. During its three-month, 4,500-mile journey, the bus will visit 17 college campuses in 12 states. In addition to two previous tours across the U.S., the bus crossed Canada last summer.

The GMAT Mobile Test Center is operated by the Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®), owner of the GMAT, and includes the same sophisticated test-security and ID-verification systems used at the global network of permanent GMAT test centers. The test center is managed for GMAC by Pearson VUE, which provides test administration services for the GMAT worldwide. The Graduate Management Admission Test, or GMAT, is a standardized entrance exam used by thousands of graduate management education programs around the world.

This trip represents the GMAT Mobile Test Center's fourth transcontinental journey. Established as a pilot program to increase access to the exam for students in remote areas in fall 2006, the bus visited nearly 50 locations in the United States between October 2006 and May 2007. A second seven-month tour in 2007-08 included 28 U.S. colleges and universities. In mid-2008, the mobile test center visited 14 universities in seven Canadian provinces.

The Graduate Management Admission Test is used by approximately 4,500 graduate business programs around the world. The test is owned by the McLean, Virginia-based Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), an international non-profit organization of leading business schools.
